I’m going to draw an incredibly tenuous link from one project Renaissance North West funds (NLOB) to another: Curiosities. http://naturallycurious.co.uk
Actually, it’s not that tenuous a link. Curiosities is about encouraging more people to take an interest in their environment, either by exploring local and worldwide natural history in a museum, or by visiting local wild sites and seeing what the region has to offer.
Many of the museums will be running events that encourage public participation in conservation. Several will be hosting workshops for making things like bumblebee houses, nestboxes, and bird feeders. So in some respects, it’s trying to get back to some of the things Mark has found through the NLOB research.
Hopefully the first Curiosities week will be a great success. We’re happy to list any more events and venues. There’s also a Features section, and a News section, and if anyone wants to contribute, just ask here (or contact me).
