Last week we held a very succesful workshop where the findings/conclusions and outputs connected with the project were discussed and debated by a broad range of individuals from the museum sector.
First of all I would like to thank our advisors, Steve Baker, Julie Harvey, Adrian Norris, and Henry McGhie for their contribution to the day. Alongside the contributions made by the attendees, many of whom are important voices in the sector, the day enabled the team to really get to grips with the arguments we’re beginning to make, their significance, and the form and function of the portfolio and other outputs.
I found the day proved vital for understanding better the broader contexts and forces to the material that I’ve been handling at each contributing institution, especially getting to grips with how these collections are capable of carrying different meanings, to different groups, in different contexts.
Thanks David for putting a really formative day together.
